BIO
Joshua Anderson is a composer, saxophonist, and keyboardist based in Moscow, Idaho. He holds degrees in Music Composition and Jazz Studies from the University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton School of Music, where he developed a deep foundation in both classical and jazz traditions. His recent work includes chamber music for various ensembles, including the string quartet Flashbacks, which was read and recorded by the Pacifica String Quartet. In addition to chamber music, Josh composes for jazz combos and big band; his chart Space Dust was recently premiered by the LHSOM Jazz Band 2.
Josh’s passion for composition began in the world of electronic music, a genre that continues to influence his creative voice. He is actively expanding his expertise in sound design and audio production, having earned four certifications from Berklee College of Music. While his compositional work continues to evolve, Josh is also pursuing a career in medicine. He currently works as a medical assistant at Gritman Medical Center and is preparing for further medical education.
Outside of his professional life, Josh enjoys astronomy, concocting homemade soft drinks, cooking, building with Legos, and spending time outdoors with his wife and daughter.
